Get LinkedIn!

After reading chapter nine of our textbook, I thought this chapter was more active in our current lives now. It discusses LinkedIn and explains the importance of it in our careers. Personally, I think LinkedIn is essential for college students looking for a future job. It connects you with business professionals and helps get your first foot in the door. 

LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network, with over eight hundred and twenty-eight million users in over two-hundred countries worldwide. It is where professionals gather to stay connected and informed; apply for jobs; advance their careers; and interact with businesses and recruiters worldwide. After great success, Microsoft purchased LinkedIn in 2016 for twenty six point two million dollars. 

Staying active on LinkedIn is important and it substantially helps with a LinkedIn content strategy. Three fourths of people said that they feel more connected on their industry while using LinkedIn. The more content and profile information you provide, the higher the probability that more professionals will scan across your profile. The popularity of LinkedIn's influencer community combined with the growth of long-form written content makes LinkedIn a great place to follow and engage with business influencers.
