Blogs, Vlogs, Podcasts and Webinars
All four of those things all have one thing in
common, and that is being able to post about your lives. People all over the
world take part in blogging, and has gained a massive following. Roughly
seventy-seven percent of users read blogs. With a simple online search, it is
very easy to gain access to anyone's blog. The beauty about a blog is that it
can be about any topic. The most common theme of a blog is fashion, which
is a great form of expression, I think. The benefits of blogging include the
increase of brand awareness, humanizes any brand, and it is an easy way to keep
customers up to date.
A vlog is very similar to a blog, the only
difference is that vlog is a video. Due to the launch of YouTube, vlogging
became a very popular act in the early 2000's. YouTube has created a creative
community for vloggers, offering them various benefits such as studio
production, support, advice, education, and access to larger events to help
networking. Many other platforms have welcomed vloggers, but they cannot
compete with YouTube. Today, vlogs represent the most popular type of video
content watched by viewers.
Podcasts have recently made an appearance to
society. Due to Covid-19, many people started podcasts to keep their viewers
listening to them and supporting them. I have had the chance to construct a
couple podcasts and from my experience I can conclude that they are the most
fun form of blog. Podcasts are usually episodic and driven by a host, who would
tell stories or share expertise in a variety of formats. I find myself
listening to podcasts over music on long car rides, because they are better at
keeping engagement.
A webinar is a live web-based video conference that uses the internet to connect people to an audience of listeners. It is intended to interact with your audience because the basis of one includes audience participation. Some benefits of using webinars include the increase of brand awareness, a larger audience can be reached, enables brands to capture valuable lead data on prospect customers from a required registration information, and provided the ability to record and repurpose material to promote in the future.
